Dr Watts has always been strong voice in the world or Rural medicine and has recently been interviewed in the national press for the Daily Mail with her views on Rural medicine and GP difficulties in the current climate. CLICK HERE

Finalist for Boarding School Association Mental Health Initiative
Dr Watts and Charlie Wildman (Shere Surgery) & Sister Claire Agnew and Krystle Flack (Cranleigh School) are delighted to announce they were finalists in Boarding School Association Mental Health Initiative Award.
They created a Neurodiversity pathway to ensure that the assessment and treatment of ADHD is done correctly and safely.
Before this, there was no school in the country that had a such a pathway so we are all thrilled that this development as been recognised and we hope it might encourage widespread use in other boarding schools.

Community Gynaecology service further recognition on Women's Health Hub Toolkit
The Guildford and Waverley case study has now been launched on the women's health Hub Toolkit. This highlights how Dr Barnes and colleagues set up a new community service from scratch and how the challenges were identified and overcome. Please see here for more

Shere's Community Gynaecology service recognition
The Community Gynaecology service has been highlighted as a case study in excellence of care for rural populations in accessing equal levels of care compared to more urban areas. By recognising the service, it is designed for similar projects to be set up throughout the country to improve the health of rural populations. Click here for more

Lord Lieutenant of Surrey Award for Shere Surgery and SALV
On Wednesday 21st July, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Jane Macaulay presented an award in regnotion of the support to the community during the pandemic.
SALV Chairman Adrian O'Loughlin wrote:
"To receive this award on behalf of SALV is of course hugely flattering, but it is not lost on me that this is just the continuation of the work the SALV has done with the community and the surgery over many years, and this award is a testament to all the hard work that has been contributed by trustees, village reps and the SALV Community."

Shere is shortlisted for Royal Society for Public Health Award
Shere has been shortlisted for the Health Equity Award from the Royal Society of Public Health for our Homelessness Project.
Lead Receptionist Elaine Jones, Lead Nurse Alison Bytheway, and Dr Emma Watts have been working hard together on this project and we are all proud to see their efforts being recognised with this prestigious accolade!

The surgery has been awarded a certificate of excellence by 'iWantGreatCare''. This award is presented to leading clinicians, clincs and surgeries across the UK in recognition of the great care they deliver to their patients.

General Practice awards 2020
The surgery was shortlisted in the National General Practice awards in the Public Health and Prevention category.
We were delighted to be nominated amongst the thousand of practices in the country, in this important category and delighted to be gaining recognition for all the work the entire surgery team out in.

National Prize for Shere Community Gynaecology

The Community Gynaecology Project was warmly recognised in November as the team won The Women's Health Initiative Prize at the 2018 National General Practice Awards

GP Survey Results

Shere Surgery was ranked the 8th best practice in Surrey (Approx. 300 practices) as based on the recent national NHS GP Patient Survey awards, and ranked 1st in our local area of Guildford and Waverley.

Thank you to everyone who filled in the questionnaires that were sent out. The team are pleased to have done so well, but will continue to strive to improve on the service we offer so we can rise further up the rankings!
